Farewell Ireland

August 16

With our tour at an end it is time to say goodbye to Ireland.

After one last breakfast in the castle main dining room we took one last tour around the magnificent Domoland Castle.

Our van to the airport arrived right on time so we said goodbye to Stephen with lots of hugs. We said our goodbyes to Gabby the evening before since she needed to get back to Dublin for the next tour that starts this morning. Both Stephen and Gabby were truly remarkable and worked together exceptionally well. Thank you Stephen and Gabby for making this trip perfect. We love Ireland and hope to get back again before too long.

Adventures by Disney does a phenomenal job at putting together a tour that immerses you in the culture. They also select guides, one from the visited country and one who has experience with Disney, and make sure they have everything they need to provide a great experience for everyone. While very expensive, we won’t hesitate to take another ABD tour.

Unlike out trip home from Alaska last year, our travel home from this trip went much better than expected. Leaving from Shannon airport was a breeze. We went to trough US immigration at the airport so we were able to bypass immigration at JFK. The flight to NY was smooth and we arrived 30 minutes early. We had an 8 hour layover but there was a flight to Rochester leaving 2 1/2 hours from our arrival at JFK. I checked and Irish luck was with us. We were able to get seats on the earlier flight and arrived home just after 8PM instead of 1:30 AM.

It was a perfect end to a wonderful trip.
