Back to The Galapagos

Our trip to the Galápagos Islands was so spectacular two years ago that we decided to return and see some parts of the islands we didn’t see on our last trip.

Our travel group will include some friends we have traveled with in the past. Most of us met up in Atlanta for our flight to Quito. It was wonderful getting to see some great travel friends we have not seen in a while.

We arrived at the Quito, Ecuador airport around 9 PM. The airport is in a valley about 45 minutes from the city of Quito so after we collected our luggage and met the Celebrity Cruise-line guide, we set off by bus to the JW Marriott in Quito where we will stay for 2 nights before heading to the Galápagos Islands on a charter flight.

The first thing I noticed in the hotel lobby were the large displays of beautiful roses which I remember from our last visit. Ecuador is one of the largest exporters of fresh roses

Since we arrived at the hotel fairly late we turned in for the night. Tomorrow we will meet up with our group for some activities around Quito.
