San Cristobal Island

A Day to Wind Down

Most of our day today was spent onboard with one tender excursion late in the afternoon. It was nice to have a little time to just relax and enjoy this beautiful ship. Our day did start out early however. At 7AM the Flora arrived at Kicker Rock, one of the iconic sites of the Galapagos. We had coffee as the sun rose behind this beautiful rock formation that is home to a number of Galapagos birds. We sat outside watching the scenery for much of the morning. The landscape in the Galapagos is every bit as fascinating as the wildlife. Late in the afternoon we opted for a tender ride instead of a beach visit or a long strenuous walk up hill. The tender ride took us out to islands where we could see red-footed boobies, Nasca boobies, more frigate birds, some very playful sea lions, and of course some spectacular scenery.
