Cartagena

Our second port was Cartagena, a port city and naval base in southeast Spain. With so many stops on this cruise, and this one being one of the shortest, we elected to do a cruise line tour that was something different, a trip to a local Andalusian horse ranch. Andalusian horses are a magnificent breed of horses native to Spain and prized for their abilities in dressage and performance. They are also excellent work horses because of their muscular physique. We were thrilled with our choice of tours which included getting up close to the horses as well as a demonstration of their performance to music with a flamenco performer.

We decided to return to our cruise ship after the tour instead of stopping in Cartagena but with the port being so close to the port we were able to see the city from the ship.
